Intro

Descale the Breville Bambino Plus machine. Those are two really important things to do on a regular basis for your espresso machine to make sure it’s working for years to come.

So let’s get started and clean and descale this machine.

How to Clean by Backflushing Manual

So, how do we know when it’s time to clean and back-flush? Our Descale the Breville Bambino Plus machine. Well, the Bambino Plus will let you know after 200 shots that it’s time to be cleaned.

I want to show you first how to do it manually. Back flush with hot water at least once a week and with a cleaning tablet at least once a month.

So, in order to back-flush your machine with a clean tablet manually, it’s basically the same as any other machine.

All you have to do is remove the porta filter, put in your blind disc there. Now there’s something to note with this blind disc.

This one no longer has a hole in it. The previous generations did have holes in this blind disc, and therefore, water would squirt out of the bottom here. But that’s not the case anymore.

Next, put your cleaning tablet on top, lock it into your machine, and empty the drip tray

Now we want to just pull shots until the tablet is dissolved, which will probably be about four or five shots.

So let’s go. I run each shot around 10 seconds

See, and you can see the clean solution coming out through there.

Just make sure that the drip tray doesn’t get too full. In the case of this red button is popping up, empty it out in the meantime.

should be pretty good. Now let’s empty the drip tray. I rinse our porta filter,

nice clean water filter and nice clean group head.

HOW TO AUTOMATICALLY BACKFLUSH

The Descale the Breville Bambino Plus machine is telling you automatically that it needs to be cleaned and back flushed, then the one and two-cup buttons will be blinking alternately.

And in order to enter the back flush mode,

You just have to hold down the 1 cup and 2 cup buttons(to enter automatic backflushing mode) for five seconds,

Make sure that you prepared the machine.

That means empty the drip tray, added your blind disc and a cleaning tablet.

Once you are in the back flushing mode, just press either the one or two cup button to start the process, and it will do it automatically,

starting and stopping the machine to dissolve the tablet,

so after that, you have successfully cleaned and back flushed your Descale the Breville Bambino Plus machine.

How to Descale the Breville Bambino Plus

Anyone can start getting quality esprsso shot. All right, guys, it is now time to descale our machine.

So the first thing we’re going to do is remove the drip tray and make sure that’s empty.

Then we’re going to make sure our machine is turned off by holding down the one-cup button on the steam button.

Descale the Breville Bambino Plus / Sage Bambino Plus, descale water line

Now we’re going to make sure that our tank is filled up the descale line water,

Descale the Breville Bambino Plus / Sage Bambino Plus, descaleing solution add water

That’s one liter water, and we’re going to add 100 millilitres of descaling solution.

And now, to enter the descaling mode, we’re going to hold down the one cup and steam button (to enter descaling mode from off state) for five seconds.

We have to put our water reservoir here under the brew group and the steam wand,

And now press either the one-cup button or the steam button to start the process.

Once all the descaling solution has been used up,

The Descale the Breville Bambino Plus machine will pause, as you see here, and it’s time to empty out your water reservoir and any remaining solution in the water tank.

Rinse it out, fill it back up with fresh water and rinse the machine.

We are filling up to the max line, and now to start rinsing, simply Press either the one cup or the steam button

Once the Breville Bambino Plus machine and rinsed, you have successfully finished descaling your machine.

It’s time to empty the reservoir and remove the water tank, rinse it out again, fill it up with fresh water, and you are ready to start brewing espresso shot.

clean steam wand

There’s another very nice feature that comes with this Descale the Breville Bambino Plus, if you remove the water tank,

Hiding right underneath here is a little tool,

And this tool right here can be used for cleaning the steam wand also for removing the steam wand tip.

So over time, the steam wand tip can become a little bit crusty,

let’s just remove that by using this tool as a wrench.

And now we can just take this tool and we can poke out little holes and make sure that they are free flowing.

Great, but it’s still just a little bit dirty.

What I want to do is put this esteem tin tip into a clean solution.

All we have to do is take some of this universal espresso coffee machine, milk system, cleaner, and add one cap full of this.

That’s about 10 millilitres, 200 millilitres of water, drop our steam tip in there, and just let that soak for a while.

All right, now our steam tip is nice and clean, good as new. Let’s reinstall that.

shower screen and clean

Descale the Breville Bambino Plus. Give it a purge, Too Perfect. That is looking good, all right.

The last thing that I want to do is remove the shower screen and clean up underneath it.

Machine off first. Let’s unplug it as well.

And what we’re going to do is just remove the shower screen. We’ll see how that looks underneath there.

All you need is a Phillips screwdriver for that. So okay, all I’m going to do with the shower screen is just really good,

Get that nice and clean. You can drop this in some solution if you want. Always a good idea to clean this while you’re at it.

Good to go finally, as a finishing touch, good to just give the machine a nice wipe down with a damp cloth.
Get that looking like new.

Yes, make sure not to use any abrasive chemicals or cleaners.
